Newcomer's Guide
If the picture describes you, then you are on the right page. This page is a short guide for new members on what their next steps would be in order to get settled.
First steps
By now you should have gotten in touch with the head of the beds and have already been assigned to your own bed. Should that not be the case, take a look at the Nutzungsrichtlinien, Community Guidelines get in touch with whoever is in charge of your target area.
What to plant
You should now have your own dedicated spot for planting. If you are unsure what to plant, take a look at the other beds and feel free to be inspired - or try something completely different. You can also take your time to do a research but don't leave your naked bed standing around for too long, as it is essential that we make the most out of the provided area.
Where to get plant + do I get my money back?
If you do not have access to seeds or saplings or anything else related, you can look up a nearby gardener or any other plant supplier and purchase your first greens there. In order to get a refund you will have to fill out a form called "Eingangsrechnung" which can be found in the form section of the HTU website. The very same page should also provide you with an explanation on how to fill the form properly. The filled out form should then be given to the person in charge and the actual bill, which you hopefully haven't thrown away, needs to be handed in at the HTU Büro in Rechbauerstraße 12 (Alte Technik). Following these steps will then result in you receiving your money back.
The aftercare
After having given your plants a new home, they will need frequent watering and maintenance, which is now in your hands.
Questions regarding access and usage to area-specific tools can be easiest cleared by asking your peers or checking the Inventar, make sure to inform yourself.
Watering in general
Usually, you are in charge of your own bed, so watering and taking care of it should be sufficient. But sometimes, especially in summer, we have very hot days and all of the plants are practically getting fried out there - on top of that this phase comes in big waves throughout the exam-days, so not everyone has the time to come visit their plants everyday.
This makes the watering-task a team effort, which helps take a load off your and others shoulders. So if you do have time to spare and decide to water everyone else's beds as well, make sure to let them know.
Documenting inside the wiki
Try to get lost inside the website a little and get familiar with the pages. You will notice that most of the beds contain information about the species and photos of the beds that are approximately up-to-date. Goal is to not only maintain the beds but the information that comes along with the journey as well.
Getting access
Speak to the person in charge in order to get an account on this wiki-page and familiarize yourself with the general design of the individual pages for the beds. As always, should questions arise while creating or updating the page and self-research doesn't do the trick, don't hesitate to ask.

The group meetings
Depending on which area you are currently in, there may or may not be regular group meetings to exchange information and work on the garden together. Make sure to check when yours are and don't hesitate to attend, as they tend to be very fruitful. :-)
